MARSTEL ANNOUNCE OPENING OF A NEW FUELS TERMINAL

Marstel Terminals announced today that its newly refurbished Fuels Terminal at Port Alma in Central Queensland will commence operation in early November with the arrival of the first bulk shipment.

The Port Alma Terminal has 3 large bulk tanks with a total storage capacity of 23M litres. The Terminal will initially be dedicated to the storage and handling of diesel fuel, which will be supplied into the Rockhampton region and the nearby Bowen Basin.

Marstel Terminals is a privately owned, independent bulk liquids storage company that has been operating for 22 years, specialising in handling hazardous bulk liquids and focussed on growing its petroleum, vegetable oils and tallow terminalling. Marstel has 8 operating facilities in Australia and New Zealand, and employs over 50 people.

The Port Alma Terminal represents an important step forward for Marstel, consistent with its strategy to become a key participant in the fuels market as an independent company providing terminalling services to the major fuel marketers and independent oil companies.

Marstel is very positive about the future prospects for expanding the Port Alma Terminal to meet the increasing demand for fuel in the region. Graham Catley, Marstel’s Managing Director said “Marstel is delighted to have an operating facility in Queensland, and we look forward to further developments with the planned refurbishment of the former Mobil Fuels Terminal at Bundaberg.”
